Work With What You Have

It started with having 2 cans of beans--cooking for eight. I needed more than one can--one black and one pinto. Black and brown I think; diversity of colors I ponder; so I go with it--add orange (carrot) red (bell pepper) green (jalapeno) and yellow (turmeric). Can't miss starting with sautéed onions and garlic in olive oil and salt. Dump whole can of beans in with liquid so by the time the water has simmered off the flavors are well blended. Summer dinner!
